Shhh......

Izzie crawled in bed with me last night and brought her favorite stuffed animal, Purple Baby. Purple Baby is a purple doll/hippo/dinosaur looking stuffed animal. Izzie has had it forever.

Well, Izzie was laying in between me and Purple Baby when she flops an arm across my face and a leg across my stomach. I ask her if she was comfy and she tells me "Shhhhhh Mama". I ask again in a whisper, "Are you comfy now?" She tells me, "Shhhh Mama, Purple Baby is sleeping"

Lord forbid I wake a sleeping Pruple Baby. I just rolled over and went to sleep with arms and legs sprawled on top of me.

A New Friend

As I was giving Izzie her bath last night she told me that she had a new friend. I asked her if it was someone from school (daycare) and she said no. I asked if her if it was someone from our neighborhood. Again she said no.

OK now I really wondering who this new friend is. So I question her if it is a boy/girl, tall/short, you know all the important stuff to a 3 year old. I still can't figure it out.

Finally I ask her if I have ever met her new friend she said  "Yes, Mommie, you see my new friend right now". I look around because it is only Me, Her and the dog Layla in the bathroom. I tell her that Layla is not a new friend she is an old friend. She still said that we were not her new friend that the new friend was standing by the tub.

It was the TOILET PLUNGER.   Well, I guess he was a quiet friend.

Izzie's new "Lotion"

As I stepped out of the bathroom for a split second, I heard the shrilling screams coming from Izzie. I ran back in and what do I find.....  my 3 year old cover in white "lotion" looking stuff and smelling of mint. Yep, she found the BenGay and thought it was lotion and was rubbing it on her face.

Immediately I jumped in the shower with her (clothes and all) and tried to get it all off and out of her eyes. Then I called poison control. They said I did the right thing and to just watch her.

How in the world did she get the BenGay? She is part monkey and part burgler. She found a way to climb up the cabinets and get it off the top shelf. I think I am going to have to clear out my house and only have a blanket to just keep her safe......from HERSELF.

On the bright side, she does smell minty fresh and so does the rest of my house.

Sparkling Shampoo

I find Izzie in her room with wet looking hair that is "sparkling". I ask her what has she done and she responds, so proudly,  by telling me that she has washed her hair. I go into the bathroom and it is all dry in the sink and tub. I go to her room again and ask her where did she wash her hair. She tells me that she washed it in her bed.

Ok, now is the time I start to get worried and wonder what has she ruined today. I go to her bed and smeared all over it, the night stand and the wall is pale pink gooey stuff. There is this faint minty smell in her room too. I ask her what is this and she said that it was her shampoo.

As I inspect her sparkling head I figure out what she shampooed her hair with. My favorite liquid pink lip gloss that has a hint of sparkle in it. In mint flavor, of course.

I get her in the bath and wash her hair with REAL shampoo twice and it still has a greasy feel to it. But on the bright side she still smells like mint and her hair is really pretty as the sunlight reflects off of the sparkly shampoo she used.

My Morning Song

I was awaken this morning by a beautiful song sung by a three year old......I am going to call it "Izzie and Layla Forever and Ever"  ....   because that is the only part of the song I could understand.

She was belting it out with all her little heart. AND as she is doing this she is hugging and petting Layla (our dog). Of course, Layla is just laying in the bed taking all the lovin' she can get.

I have to tell you, this was MUCH better that an alarm clock waking me up.

My first blog.....

My friends have always told me that they look forward to the stories of my daughter, Izzie. With Izzie you never know what she will do. Let's get you caught up on her. She is a fiesty 3 year old with a mind of her own and will tell you so. Her best friend is our weenie dog, Layla. They have been best buddies since the day I brought Izzie home from the hospital. Sometimes she acts like a dog and sometimes the dog thinks she is human. No matter who or what Izzie thinks she is, she is special and I hope you will enjoy the Izzie Tales.
